Sparky was created in response to the big blackout of August 2003. Initially it was just for one contest with a specific goal project and due date, but I was so fond of it I decided to send it to a couple more places.

It was planned out on Friday, August 22, and the bathroom scenes were shot then. The rest of shooting took place the following day in between editing sessions. Editing was complete on Sunday the 24th.

I view this short as "YouTube before YouTube existed"—ahead of its time in a lot of ways. The world wasn't ready for this kind of comedy in 2003. C'est la vie…
